Encouraging to see people mobilising and demanding #RouterFreedom.

Although the #NetNeutrality regulation in the EU is reaching its 10th anniversary, many member states still do not allow consumers to use their own routers.

There will be a window of opportunity to harmonise #RouterFreedom across the EU, though:

This is actually pretty neat to have such important idea recognized by a superior court:

"The Court has now established a concrete legal precedent in Spain that the Freedom to Study is constitutionally necessary in the context of publicly administered software programmes a algorithms, and in accordance with principles inherent to a democratic state."

Tomorrow I kick-off a challenging and exciting project: my first course for legal aspects related to #OpenHardware (OSH )at University of Halle Wittenberg.

Together with my great colleague Martin Häuer, who has a lot of experience with OSH communities, we will go over these topics:

- Licenses for hardware, software and data
- Patent law and OSH
- Protection of semiconductors (RISC-V case study)
- Liability and OSH
- Interoperability regulation
- OSH and administrative law
- AI and generative OSH design

During my last hours in Luxembourg I am reflecting yesterday's experience at @Curia@curia.social-network.europa.eu.

Apple's legal team consisted of at least 10 persons. @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu 's DMA enforcement team was also heavily present with at least 8 officers and 4 lawyers.

Everyone extremely well prepared, but the hearing was brutal: 8 hours of intense inquiry and debate.

Even for myself, who knows the DMA almost by heart, there were moments I felt lost in the discussion.

I am very grateful to Martin Husovec who like a true professor guided us during the whole procedure. It was quite a journey!

Just heard from a high rank officer in the audience of the hearing that @fsfe@mastodon.social intervention (prepared by Dr. Martin Husovec) today at the @Curia@curia.social-network.europa.eu was the most impactful among all the parties! #SoftwareFreedom at the core of the case!
